Opening a .docx document?

    Hi guys,

    I received a number of files in a .docx format but can't open them as my laptop will only open .doc documents. What way can i get around this problem so that i can open them?

    Any advice appreciated, thanks!

    You need the Microsoft Office 2007 Compatibility Pack

    Just install the office 2007 compatability pack. Docx is an XML based file format for word documents introduced in office 2007.

    The latest version of OpenOffice will also open DOCX files.

    Download size isn't much bigger than the microsoft compatability pack with it's service pack and patches
