    pls do not laugh, can i connect a desktop to my lappy and use the screen and keyboard of the lappy

    Not exactly the most straight forward way but if they're both networked then install www.realvnc.com on the desktop and you can then control the desktop from your laptop.

    my lappy is old and tired, i can get a 2nd hand desktop for a fraction of the price of a lappy, space is my 1st problem, dosh a short head behind. the lappy takes up less space than a moniter keypad and mouse.
