Just wondering if anyone has a link to a source on the number of licensed firearms in Ireland?
    Would be greatly appreciated.

There are something like 180,000+ firearms in the country. The numbers are slightly fuzzy since there are a bunch of things covered by firearms certificates here which aren't classed as firearms elsewhere (crossbows, low-power air rifles, paintball markers, humane killers, starter pistols, etc).

The question gets asked in the Dail regularly and usually the questions and responses are copied in this thread. If you have a dig around there you should be able to find the most recent stats. They aren't tracked by the CSO, it's more a case that it gets asked in the Dail and the Gardai query PULSE to get them the answer.
