Driving past Penny Hill pub today about 3pmish only to find a white van parked up on the side of the road by a bus stop. White van with black roof rack on top of it... Could this be a Gatso?? Was doing about 60 in a 50 zone. none of the cars on front of me where suddenly slowing down so if anyone else seen it, plz gimme your thoughts!!! the van looked pretty well kept to be a cop van. the back windows where blacked put but there was no normal "square" in the black tint where the camera would normally be....

None of the Gatso vans currently have roof racks.

Thats the usual parking spot for a Gatso along that road, but your description of the van is a bit different to the look of a Gatso.

Yep I am wondering the exact same thing! Passed around 4pm. Couldnt see the camera but it could be one of the new vans. Sneaky place too - Fish in a barrel. I though the new vans were supposed to have camera symbols on them to indicate they are Gatsos?

I drive that road nearly everyday and I've only ever seen cops with the hand held speed cameras... Maybe i'm jumping to conclusions! but it did look rather dodgy... damn!!!

I drive it about 3/4 times per week in both directions and I see the Gatso more so than a Garda with a handheld device in that area.

Further up towards Grangecastle, the common speed check method I've experienced, is a Garda hiding behind some low down road signage with his hand held device (at the crossroads with Clondalkin and Baldonnel/Newcastle turn off's).
