I know there are loads of threads on this issue. BUT I want to know if anyone has been to see a doctor about this problem who was keen to retain the foreskin.

Alot of doctors are keen to send you off for circumcison straight away, I want to keep the foreskin and am looking for a doctor in the Midlands or Dublin area that might be foreskin friendly!

    I'm not seeking medical advice.

I know someone who had that and I don't think you'll find the doctor your looking for. The only thing I can suggest is to lose the emotional attachment you have for your foreskin, it's fairly useless and you'll be less inclined to get infections(general infections not sti's) without it

TBH a fully functioning foreskin is more than fairly useless. Quite a lot of nerve endings in fact. I wouldn't be at all happy to lose mine I can tell you. The less infections part and general hygiene idea is only going to come into play if you can't retract it. It's a common enough fallacy. Indeed you would be more correct in saying that it reduces the incidence of STI's(hiv) than believing the hygiene angle.

As for a doctor who will go through other options beyond a full circumcision, keep looking until you find one. Get a second third or fourth opinion if needs be. You're right with your experience of a lot of doctors. A mate of mine 10 odd years ago went through the same, but he refused to take the easy answer and did his research and ended up retaining his foreskin. No operation required. Now every person is different and what worked for him may not work for you, but it's your body and your foreskin so don't be bullied into anything you don't want done. Even if there ends up being no alternative on a purely medical basis, then research other avenues, including a partial circumcision. There are "styles" of circumcision too. Research, research, research. As I say it's your body.

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

It is possible to retain the foreskin in many cases. If it fully retracts(albeit a bit tight) then it may be just the underneath part the ,phrenum ,which is thicker than normal. This makes it more difficult to retract.A general surgeon will tell you in a few minutes if he can simply cut this part and avoid the need for a full circumcision.Just make an appointment to see one and if he decides to do it then it is a fairly simple procedure.Usually the general anaesthetic is used as it is such a sensitive area.

A small bandage and after a week or two its as if it never happened.More common than you might think and easily solved.

Just see the surgeon .A referral letter from your GP and pick whichever hospital suits you in Dublin. It is a day procedure .In and out.Just make sure you have someone with you to take you home and stay with you for a while.Just in case of problems after the anaesthetic. This is extremely rare.

Beaugé treated several hundred adolescents by advising them to change their masturbation habits to closing their hand over their penis and moving it back and forth. Retraction of the foreskin was generally achieved after four weeks and he stated that he never had to refer one for surgery.

There is quite a body of evidence to suggest that the foreskin has its uses and advantages, to dismiss it as something that is not needed is a little off.

A penis without a foreskin leaves the glans exposed, rubbin goff things, reducing sensitivity, in short I think is someone is attached to it and wants a penis with one for the look and feel it should be their choice.

Finding a foreskin friendly doctor is all I want to do!
