Hi was wondered if you could help me,I'm about to finish college and have been applying for jobs pretty vigurously but to no avail im assuming thanks to the recession. I have a car and other bills so basically im wondering if i can sign on the dole straight away as someone recently told me i had to wait 3 months after finishin college and even at that their is a 16 week waiting list. Obviously I dont want to sign on to the dole but at this stage i feel i have no other choice...any help greatly appreciated!

No not at all you might be weeks waiting to get any money but you can sign on straight after college. Get a letter from your college stamped by them and stating the date you finished your degree and you are sorted.

Don't worry about it plenty of people finish college penniless and if they are lucky enough to land job may have few months until they start work!
