Milan - Where to stay?

Hello,

Myself and a few others may be going to Milan later this year and we were wondering where we could stay. I've been trying to find out if there are hotels near enough to the city centre, but also near enough to Milan Central train station. From what I can see most of the hotels seem to be quite far away from the train station.

It's possible I haven't looked very closely. But if you have any tips for where to stay etc, that would be appreciated.

i stayed in this hotel a few years back,its only about 100 yards from the trainstation.its was a very nice 4 star at about €85 per night.the area around the station isnt the best with a good few of outside drinkers about although saying that i didnt have any trouble whatsoever.

There are plenty of hotels accross the road from the train station in Milan

I stayed at the Hotel Berna about 2 weeks ago, its near the train station and a really nice reasonably priced hotel.
