Oil Boiler using 500l in 2 months!

We recently replaced our oil boiler and got just over 500l of oil the heating was on for approx. 3 hours a day and it only lasted 2 months. The house is 1500 sq meters but it is very well insulated and heats quickly. There is no leak in the oil line, what could be the problem, we cant afford to be going through this much oil at this rate? Any suggestions?

    Thanks in advance

Are you in an isolated area, or where there would be easy access to an external oil tank without being disturbed?

Someone siphoning off oil is a possibility.

    I presume you mean 1500 sq ft!!

Siphoning off is defo a problem at the moment but if the boiler is not sized properly or commisioned to suit the heating load correctly it can be very inefficient. What is the boiler input/output, make/model etc.? What sort of controls do you have? Rads or underfloor?? etc. etc.....???
