    Hi,
Having travelled to San Diego in 2005, i know there can be a big attraction to travel south of the border to Tijuana for nights out (especially if you are under 21). However, please be careful and if possible, avoid going there completely. Swine Flu is one thing but it is incredibly dangerous down there right now because of the drug war. If you don't believe me, please read this news article http://www3.signonsandiego.com/stories/2009/may/14/1m14tjdead23480/.

These people who were killed were of Latin descent but were killed anyway. Gangsters are far less tolerant towards "gringos" so you can only imagine how dangerous it is.

I would never tell a person not to do something but if it was me, right now i would stay in the US. Enjoy your J1 experience, its an amazingly short few months, just be careful.

    Hope this helps somebody!
