I registered on cbg.ie to sell a car. I'm now receiving emails from buyandsell.ie saying I'm registered with them as well.

I know it's probably in the small print that they will pass your details within their network, but I just think it's poor practice. I don't remember there being any opt-out option in the cbg.ie signup.

Has anyone else experienced other car sales websites doing this? Are you ok with them doing it?

If I was running that business I'd have a single page clearly to deal with this issue when you list the car. It should be up to you, even if I personally listing a car would have no harm with the extra exposure. Doesn't seem like it would take a lot of extra work.

Could it be buyandsell saw your ad and are using the email address attached to ad to contact you and say you are registered in the hope you'll use them also ?

I think they're all one and the same.

Nope, the email address isn't shown in the ad, and it was a custom email address so it's not an email address that buyandsell.ie could scrape from anywhere else.

Fair enough are CBG & Buy & Sell owned by the same people ? I know anytime I've put a car on carzone after the scamers the most enquiries I get are from CBG trying to get me to use them

Cbg and buyandsell often send me emails, but I'm fairly sure I'm registered with both. There should be an opt out "Unsubscribe" button somewhere on the email.

I received and unsolicited text last week from car4sale.ie asking me to advertise with them!

CBG are constantly ringing me asking to take out advertising with them!!
"Oh hi, I'm from the Saab Sales department of the Car Buyers Guide! I'm really surprised you haven't sold yet."
