Typical Irish weather  . Please (any) God we don't have the sh!t weather we had for past few years. When is this global warming going to kick-in and bring us golfers the long awaited droughts of summer :D. Played 18 Tuesday evening in glorious sunshine; 9 last night (mid-week comp) in miserable dank conditions; out tomorrow in Seafield in a classic, going to be p!ssed on :(.
Not many courses can stand up to the amount of rain we've had with water tables still high even on the best of parkland courses.

Scorthy, Have you tee'd it up at Seafield before? i am involved in a summer society and we dropped it ftom our schedule a couple of years ago.

We play, Scorthy, Coolatin, Arklow, Courtown, Woodenbridge and Courtown again for the Captains. Will miss Scorthy this year as we have our Captains qualifer on same day. Whats the story with the new holes?

Gowran was in great order on Tuesday... diagonally cross-cut fairways, all the trees leafing out... chestnuts in bloom.. bluebells on the 5th.
Played 18 last night off the blues and the rough is difficult now so a premium on hitting fairways. Unusual wind direction this week too from the east

Yeah, Seafield 5 mins from home and open when my own course was closed due to frost. Got very bad press in the early days, which was unwarranted because it hadn't matured but great now, esp the greens.
Gazed over at the two new holes, 12th & 13th in Enniscorthy on Tuesday evening and they look great. Weather permitting should be open in June. Sorry to hear you'll miss Enniscorthy this year. Plenty of open events there though.

Sickener, I'm playing in the Close in Fota this weekend. Hopefully the weather won't be as bad as it looks.
