Online Insurance Sites

    Hi guys,

Just a suggestion to form a list of online insurance quoting sites might benefit this forum and could be stickied. I've been keeping an eye out lately for better offers and I'd find it useful so decided to start this thread.

Also do you always get a better deal by ringing them in the end or can the online sites actually provide better value for money?

Most people seem to say ring them but that seems to fly in the face of almost every other industry that is trying to encourage a migration to online purchases. Of course insurance wants to rip people off who won't shop around or ask for a cheaper quote but does it really pay them to do this over offering upfront prices?

I've never actually bought insurance online, I just use the sites for a quote on a guide price, and once I have that I ring the insurance company. I would say the most the price has differed by from site/phonecall was about €10, if any difference.

There's nothing wrong with online insurance sites, as the majority are backed by major insurance companies. The only thing I would say is that you will be dealing with a call centre if you require assistance during the year for things like duplicate papers, substitutions, adding drivers etc. If there is only a couple of bob in it, I would always suggest a good insurance broker:)

Ive always bought my insurance online. Never had any issues (touch wood). Saves a bit of hassle, plus I can be posting in boards at the same time thanks to the usefulness of tabbed browsing :D
