New ISSF toys

Noted while reading the latest copy of the ISSF News (and yes, I know, "toys" is perhaps overly playful language as most of these are firearms - but you know what I meant, right?):

First off the new Anschutz straight-pull action ISSF rifle, the F-27A in the Precise stock:

And staying with the Precise stock, Anschutz now do it for an air rifle (not the 2002CA alas, but the 9000 series):

Centra UK have also done a small rearsight like the MEC Free sight, called the Spy, but I can't find a photo of it online :( Ten clicks to move one ring on the 10m target - even on the 50m target, thats 0.1 points per click :D Finally, you can adjust from 10.8 to 10.9 ;)

Feinwerkbau have a new model in the 700 series out, the 700 evolution.Minimalist looking, seems to be an entry-level P-700 :

Comes in lots of colours too:

    main.php5?id=309&width=300&height=122

Walther has the new LG30 which seems to be the old Hammerli AR30. Gosh I hope not, the AR30 was a POS rifle, we had 4 of them in WTSC and all 4 broke (internal parts) and the loading/cocking arm felt very flimsy.

Walther also have a new club air pistol, the LP300. Looks nice enough, but the price point is the key thing here and there wasn't any sign of it :( :

There was also an announcement of a new electronic trigger unit for the Steyr LP10 and LP50 - I hear lots of folks hate the mechanical trigger on those, so that'll sell!

I love the way they let you 'click' the cheekpiece adjustments on those things. I love the fact that they're milled rather than sintered more - I've reason to distrust sintered stocks :D

Saw the Precise stock in Rathdrum at the National Indoors. Loads of adjustment all right:) Of course it was so cold (as usual) that the stock was dripping in condensation from the shooters breath...

I was thinking that'd be a possible problem allright tony - though I was more worried that outdoors on a sunny day, you'd have to wear sunglasses if someone was using one of those things on the range :D

The ability to click adjustments with the Precise stock is fantastic. Was having a look at the one in question and it really is a lovely bit of kit.

Dunno how I feel about the straight-pull. Saw one in action in St. John's at Easter, AHG Challenger in the G&E stock and, well, it didn't seem to do anything different.

I was thinking the straight-pull action was shorter than the match 54 action IWM - sortof a poor man's Bleiker :D

He couldn't be that poor! I'd just buy the shaggin' Bleiker, weep and have done with it. :p

Weep? Ha! I could only afford that by dipping into the getting-hitched fund and there'd be more than weeping if I did that :D
