    Hey folks,

I've loved this piece for a long time, and am teaching myself piano at the moment, so would LOVE to be able to play this!

I can read a bit of sheet music, though it takes me hours to decipher it :) Needless to say I cannot sight-read

Anybody got advice on how to learn this particular piece? :o It's my 'Everest'

    Thanks

I just had a listen to it myself there. Tis a nice piece. What pieces can you play at the moment? just to gauge your level

Checkout pianoworld.com/forum. Its a great place if you play piano

Watch nkabbani play this on youtube

He plays it twice, he's fast and a joy to watch. He makes it look simple but that only comes with practice. Learn the right hand first (mainly scales - with regular scale fingering - from what I see), then the left and then put them slowly together.
Sometimes there are tutor videos on youtube for certain songs so there might be one for this. Good luck.

    Thanks guys

I'm really just learning the piano, so can't play any pieces as such :o Thus far I've really just been getting chords for songs and hammering away at them

This'll be the first real piece I attempt :pac:

I've got the opening few bars pretty good, left and right hand seperate. Just gotta put them together now :D

?? He bollaxed up at least 3 scale runs and a couple of trills that I counted at a cursory example, not to mention he drops in and out of time on the more cluttered passages. I don't mean to be pedantic but he's not a great pianist

You're right he did. I noticed a good few mistakes. I'm no expert on piano, but I'd agree with this comment about the dynamics:

"Great job! Personally, I try to play the left hand a little lighter in order to bring out the right. You also may want to try and add variation in the dynamics."
