So new to this forum and looking for some help.

ive been a cricket fan for many years but have decided that id actually like to try and play the game and see if Im any good.

ive emailed a few clubs around dublin but not one single club has bothered replying to me. Which given its a relatively small sport domestically is a real shame.

Anyway is there anybody here who can put me in touch with the right person or persons in the club so I can arrange to attend a session and go from there.

preferably the southside of dublin if possible

    thanks

All new players are welcome to come down to training.

    Thanks legend.

Id imagine if I just arrived down tomorrow night that might be a bit intrusive ?

and if I did would it be a problem that I dont have my own pads or bat right now ?

You can pitch up, happens all the time and introduce yourself around. We have spare kit to borrow.

There may not be nets tonight with the weather, the best thing to do is check the forum. We are in the process of relaying the mat so I would say we are odds on in suspending the session tonight.

I play for a Taverners Team based in the Phoenix Park and we are on the lookout for players, our next game weather permitting is in Castle Park School in Dalkey why dont you spin by and say hello, it is a good starting point with no pressure and at least six of our players have gone on to play league cricket for Civil Service! PM me for more details!

Thanks for the message Dodgy. Ive been in touch with legend and Sandyford CC.

Actually trying my hand at taverners tonight for the first time.

Im expecting to be out second ball for a duck and to go for 72 runs off my 2 overs but hey :D:D

Im already reserving "long hop duck" for my nickname ;)

Sorry you didnt get a bat or bowl on Friday! We are skippered there by John from RTE and as you saw he basically put all his guys in for a bowl and bat.

I'll have to put a word in his ear about sharing the wealth.

no problems Im sure he didnt expect us to win by 9 wickets kinda makes it a bit harder to share the wealth i guess :)
