On Tuesday at 9pm, the first of economist’s David McWilliam’s factual series ‘In Search of the Pope’s Children’ examining the social landscape of Ireland in 2006 will air. (The consecutive programmes will air again on Wednesday and Thursday). Conor McPherson’s ‘Saltwater’ featuring Brian Cox (The Escapist) will follow at 11.25pm.

‘The Van’ starring Colm Meaney and Donal O’Kelly airs at 10.00pm on Wednesday with Perry Ogden’s ‘Paveen Lackeen’ on at 11.35pm. Thursday will air a documentary on Irish traditional band ‘The Chieftains’ at 10.30pm and the Robert Quinn directed ‘Dead Bodies’ staring Andrew Scott (Little White Lie) will follow at 11.30pm. Pity they didn't buy Paths to Freedom, I wish RTÉ would repeat it :(

A bigger shame they didn't buy Pure Mule. God only knows what the average viewer in the UK would've made of that! :D

I watched Williams Pope Children for the first time tonight, it began with a newly shot preface noting how things have changed since 2006. Dunno what the reaction was at the time but he wasn't wrong. Its a pity his progs tend to be so flashy in their presentation, it obscured the message to a degree or made it easy to dismiss.

Watched Williams in Search of the Popes Children. Pity he uses so many drugs and porn references. Really no need for it, only makes him look like a twat!

Again I wonder why RTÉ don't show In it to Win it?

As for Killinascully I suppose they could show it since they still make Last of the Summer Wine.

Other series that would definately have been suitable:

    Batchelor's Walk (Season 1 co-produced by BBC)
    No Tears
    Stardust
    Aftershock
Any of the Arts Lives documentaries
Any of the True Lives documentaries
