drink driving summons

My idiot brother was caught drink driving last xmas. The funny thing is he nilled by mouth while under observation so they had to take blood. Needless to say when the results came back he was way over the limit. His ex got a call from the gaurds asking where he was to serve a summons as he was not at home ( he works in UK alot of the time). My question is how long do the gaurds have to serve a summons and in what circumstances can they do it. He comes back to Ireland most weeks to work in his office in town and he wonders if they can serve it there. I know he is a thick for what he done but at least he has given up drink over it.
    Thanks

I think they have a year to serve you, will take them months to do it though. When they do it they say "you got served yo" and do the moonwalk out of the room. It's worth it for that alone.

Have a look at the summons.

If the date it was applied for is more than 6 months from the date of the offence then it'll be stuck out.

Seeing as you're saying last christmas(I assume 2008) then that's not the case.

Maybe legal issues or emergency services forums may be of more use to you.
