    Hi,

Can anyone recommend any accomadation near Brooklodge Hotel in Wicklow that is not too far away? I am going to a wedding there on my own, and was hoping to find somewhere really near by to stay. Thanks

Closest would be in Aughrim, about 2 miles away. I think Lawless' http://www.lawlesshotel.ie are the only hotel left there, but there may be B&Bs also.

There are B&Bs in Aughrim and other areas nearby.

We had our wedding in the Brooklodge and they provided a list of alternative accommodations to us, so perhaps check with the couple getting married to see if they have the list. Failing that, I'll see if I can dig it up at home. It's been a while!

Macreddin Rock is a nice B&B only a 2-3min walk from the hotel. Ideal if your going to the wedding on your own. Alternatively there is Lawless's hotel in Aughrim and a few other B&B's locally.

I've had both good and bad experiences in The Brook Lodge but would definitely recommend the Maccreddin Rock B&B as a good alternative to staying there. Almost at the entrance to the hotel, great breakfast and lovely people running it.

You could also try Aughavannagh Cottage - its about 15 minutes away in a really spectacular setting - very nicely restored self catering and total peace and quiet - great if staying at the hotel is not your thinghttp://www.holidaywicklow.com
