Im 19 years old and up until about a year ago i had perfect health.. maybe a cold once a year if that.
Since then ive had problem after problem ranging from trapped nerves (hurts like hell), to flu after flu, to urinary tract infections.
Its gotten to the point where im very depressed and this morning i was hoping the car would topple over and just end it for me.. im usually an upbeat sorta guy.

Im not looking for medical advice - this has already been sought with not much use other than extortionate bills.

Is there any supplements i can take to maybe boost my immune system, perhaps im not doing enough exercise, change my lifestyle?

I sit at a computer for 9 hours a day for work and dont get much exercise other than walking to the shops or walking into the city. I smoke about 15 a day but i doubt they are the cause.
Maybe there is something in my diet that im missing?

    Any suggestions welcome.

After 14 years of smoking, I stopped 4 weeks ago.
I can tell you right now that my energy levels through the roof! I was shocked how much more I was up for doing.
In fact the hall, stairs and landing that I'd been looking at for 4 years got painted the first weekend I gave up.
Also, it's much easier to give up than I would ever have thought possible.
So, consider it as an option.

Secondly, exercise. Due to having a bad back, I took up swimming on a daily basis. There is a pool right beside where I work so I go during my lunch hour.
Swimming, or any forum of exercise with also give you an energy boost. I've discovered that even when I feel crappy, a swim will greatly improve how I feel for the rest of the day.

So, think about giving up smoking and defo start some form of daily exercise.
Apart from that, lots of fruit and veg in your diet.

Cut down or stop smoking, that can really help your health. You need to do some exercise, go for a walk each day, exercise at a gym, join a club eg: hill walking etc. You sound like you are run down, its usually the best advice to go and check with your doctor or even a pharmacist can advise. You can buy vitamin supplements over the counter. Eat well and healthy, no fast food junk. Drink cranberry juice, it can help with urinary tract infections.

Is this a recent change to your lifestyle?

sitting a computer 9 hours a day smoking with no exercise and possibly poor nutrition (you'll have to confirm this) is not good for you at all.

If this change is recent then it would explain why you are feeling this way

This happened me when I finished college, when you settle down into a working life your body needs to be able to adapt. You have to change your habits and eat more veg fresh meat etc (I discovered this the hard way), quit the junk food and get some exercise

OP here, Yeh its a fairly recent change, been working a year at this stage. Tbh my diet is pretty crap and probably eat fast food about 3-5 times a week, eat alot of crisps and chocolate.
My lunch would usually consist of either a chicken roll, sandwich or fast food. For dinner i get lazy so either another sandwich or bowel of cerial .. prob not the best.

Ive never bothered with what food i eat because im not fat at all but i guess i could try the healthy eating approach and see if it helps.

All really good advice. Vitamin supplements cant be bad for you either, just in case your not a biug veg eater.

About the smoking, be careful that if you do give it up, and find it rediculously easy, same as I did, that you dont say "ah sure if i gave them up once it cant hurt to have the odd fag with a few drinks", because you will end up smoking again.

Healthy eating has nothing to do with your weight. Even if you are not putting on weight it is affecting your body negatively. You cannot eat that much fast food and feel well. End of story.

Laziness is not an excuse for bad nutrition. If you are feeling so rubbish then you need to get up and do something about it. You can take all the vitamins you like, but if your diet is bad there they aren't going to make that much of a difference

There is fuk all nutritional value in eating that kind of crap on a daily basis. As a result, it slows the system down and you are cheating your body out of good food rich in vitamins.

    Very bold.
