    Hey, going away this day four weeks, only getting a chance to go get a new password today...heard it takes ten days, is that ten working days? Do people have much experience with it getting sent back because the photo or something is wrong? cause if that happens to me i'm screwed..:S My Grandma recently got hers sent back twice for using a blue pen instead of a black one and then for having bad lighting in the photo!!

    FYP = Fixed Your Post

    You should be OK, if you're going in four weeks. You could always apply for a emergency passport - they'll then put a rush on processing it, but it'll cost more

    If you are living in Dublin bring the application to Passport Office, they will ensure everything is all right before they take the paperwork from you.

    If you have proof of travel they will ensure the Passport is back with you in time.

    Call the passport office. Explain your situation - they will tell you exactly what to do.

    agree. they put the wrong dob. on my passport , my daughters was sent back 3 times it was the garda stations fault doe 3 times!!!, i know few others who were sent back because of the photo.

    if you like in dub or cork and as someone mentioned you can hand in the passport youself they can check every thing is correct.

    hey thanks for replies!! unfortunately I had already left before you posted so didn't see the advice about going to the passport office :( i got the photo taken in a camera shop rather than in the booths and got him to check if it was lined up and everything with this sheet thing so hoping the photo is ok...
    The garda was a bit of a dope though..was also getting my garda id done and she stamped one of the photos on the wrong side, ruining the picture so it couldn't be used!!!! so hoping she didn't mess up my passport :S:S if everything goes to plan I will have it Tuesday two weeks, two weeks before my hols..if something goes wrong is there anything at all I could do so I could still go?! so scared tbh!!

    the photo should be ok all right, the garda stamping on the wrong side that happened to me too:D, with my daughter they sent it back the first time then the 2nd and 3rd time she actually rang me she told me to put her name on the envelpoe and she would deal with it personnel and she gave me her direct no. she was very helpfull i applied for it 2mth b4 we flew and it only arrived a few days b4 we left, it prob wouldnt hav a arrived on time only that i was dealing with 1 girl in the office.

    so if they do send it back for whatever reason id ring the passport office and explain your case and they will get you sorted. dont stress you will be grand.
