Couple of questions

I've been doing a lot of cardio for the last 3 months or so but I have also started doing some weights with dumbells I have

The weights feel lighter after a week ( very pleasing ) or so and I can do a lot more reps, what is going on there as I doubt you can gain any muscle in such a short span and there's no way I have anyway as I'm probably on a large calorie deficit at the moment.

I was considering doing more weights and less cardio as I want to gain some weight - should I quit cardio if I want to gain weight. If I quit will I get fat even if I eat OK as all those calories are no longer getting used.

I think I read here that you can't gain weight without fat, is this true ? If I eat more and do weights can I not gain muscle and do cardio at the same time to burn any fat I put on ?

I was giving some thought to buying a barbell what would I also need to get to be able to do bench press and squats

What happens if you do weights while eating just what you need, I don't know what that would be called, as in calories in equal calories out.

    thx !
