ok, im doing some fundraising for a charity at the moment and im looking at giving a USA Fender Strat away in a raffle, obviously looking to get the most out of ticket sales. I have a question, which is the busiest Musical Instrument / General Music Shop around? Im based in Dublin and Cork mainly. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Pro Musica is probably the busiest one in Cork, doubt you'll get a guitar out of them though.

thanks, Its my own guitar, just thinkin if i coulld sell maybe upwards of 70 tickets at close to a tenner a pop id do better than selling direct to raise funds. Do you think people would pay €10 for a ticket?

I think it's a great idea. You would need to approach the shop and ask if you could setup a small stall in the shop on a Saturday or Sunday or successive days over a couple of weekends. Have a big poster with the "WIN A USA FENDER STRAT FOR €10" and mention the charity etc. You'd sell more at €5 a ticket than €10. I'd buy one for €5 for charity but not really for €10. Good Luck.

X Music would be the spot in Dublin.

It's for the Nial Melon Township Project. Its part of the November Blitz. What do ye think, would I do better in a place like HMV with a lower cost ticket, I assume in a guitar shop people would pay a bit more. what would be a good price?

ProMusica would be a good choice in Cork alright. Only thing is every square inch of the place is already being used! It does get a lot of traffic though.

X-music? Is it just me or is the place empty most of the time. Id say it attracts more serious buyers but would one of the places in Dublin city centre do better coz of all the comings-and-goings type ramblin-in that might pick up a ticket for say €8? Also, do Xmusic have a place in town aswell?

    Thanks for the replies!
