    Yes, its sad, and wrong

But people are killed every day for invalid reasons

Dont see why this should get any emphasis TBH

    Does that make it right?

It's there to point out that gay people were largely the forgotten victims of the Holocaust.

Gays, jews, poles, gypsies, invalids etc. It's well known that WWII was not a nice time to be in German controlled territory.

Yeah but it’s just that I was watching a 2 hour documentary on the camp’s and they mentioned the “gypsies” , “homosexuals” and “mentally Ill” once in a very short sentence seems people are only really interested in telling the story of the Jew’s:(

The Jews stand out because of the sheer scale of the numbers involved, but that does not mean the others are in any way less important. That I would have thought is clearly obvious.

Because they control the media!:D It's not a competition.

There's also a video on YouTube from the 1950's.

It's an American Public Service Film warning people against homosexuals because they all 'stalk young boys and then rape them'.

Rev is right... it's just the numbers...

    Jews 5.9 million
    Soviet POWs 2–3 million
    Ethnic Poles 1.8–2 million
    Romani 220,000–1,500,000
    Disabled 200,000–250,000
    Homosexuals 5,000–15,000
    Jehovah's Witnesses 2,500–5,000

    From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holocaust#Victims_and_death_toll

You can't really compare the 15,000 homosexuals to 5.9 million jews.

Yeah, but that's just why certain people were killed

I'm sure lots of the jews fall into several of them categories

All the killings were wrong, regardless of the reasoning beind them

Are you sure it's not a parody like the zombie ones...?

    Judge for yourself....

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p4enfUyGWSY

Embedding the video didn't work for some reason, but it did in the OP...

Looking around, the 'Sid Davis' company responsible for that video did a lot of propeganda films in the 50's and 60's so it seems legit.

makes you wonder why they didn't just publicly deny their sexuality and just practise it in private, also I think calling the Pope a neo-Nazi because he was forced into the Hitler Jugen abit OTT. The Pope simply dislikes Homosexuals as that is what his Religion teaches.

    *sigh*

    Please inform yourself.

    a) It's not like German homosexuals went out into the street yelling "Yes, I'm gay! please arrest me!" What happened was that the Weimar Republic which preceded Hitler's Germany was extremely liberal, with many gay rights organisations and legal protection for homosexuals (no, really!). When the Nazis came to power they merely had to consult the membership lists of these organisations.

    b) The Pope (whom I do not agree with, but still) does not technically dislike homosexuals. He considers homosexual acts to be "intrinsically disordered". If you want a basic outline of the official Catholic Church policy, read the 1986 paper from the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith - "On the Pastoral Care of Homosexual Persons". It can be found here: http://www.newadvent.org/library/docs_df86ho.htm

It's barley mentioned in Germany these days. I was in Berlin during Easter and went to as many museums and on as many tours as possible and it was barely mentioned. One tour guide did go on about how fabulous it was being gay in Berlin in the 20's and early 30's. But it was never mentioned that gays were murdered during the Holocaust.

Yeah thats right, myself and a few friends visited Auschwitz a couple of years back and our guide listed all the various persecuted groups during the Holocaust except gays. I only found out that they were targeted when my friend told me.

Well it's fully covered in Dachau

I was in Sauchsenhausen and the guide mentioned just about every other group who was persecuted. He left gays off the list. I pointed it out and got the filthiest look ever from him. Not cool.

Brings me back to 3rd year history when we were studying the holocaust and I felt pretty offended that neither the book nor the teacher mentioned gays. And this was only like four years ago.
