Certainly. Is it a Ford Mondeo by any chance?

    no its a golf.

i'll get them to fix it so. they probably didnt check it after as i was waiting for the job to be finished, and it was getting near closing time!

I'd say they dropped the subframe on the car to get at the clutch.

Your going to have to get the alignment checked on the car to put it right, the subframe prob didn't go back in the same position.

    cheers.

i'm really just trying to confirm that they did something when changing the clutch, and that they have to fix the steering at no extra cost!

Dropping the subframe on a Golf shouldn't cause a problem and you don't need to do this to take out the clutch on a Golf. Mondeo's are a different thing altogether and you do have to drop the subframe to get the clutch out and you also have to use an alignment tool to put it back in.

I'd just get the wheel alignment done if you have any concerns, this "should" resolve the issue for you.
