    "normal" money !!!!????

Afraid not, they are all really cheap at the moment. You'll probably have to wait for the recession to end before the prices will come back up a bit.

Buy robertr's one in his sig above ^^ :D. In fairness it does look like a very well maintained ant tidy example. Low milage too. Bit over your budget tho. (I don't know him, I just remember looking at the ad recently.)

Failing that there has been a good few threads on passats recently so do a search. Passat would be my pick.

Look on all the usual places www.adverts.ie , www.carzone.ie , and have a look on autotrader to see what the prices are like in the UK.

Don't actually think prices are going to go up:rolleyes:, just making a point....unless I was reading it wrong, the OP's post was suggesting that most are currently overpriced and that its hard to find "normal" priced cars when reality is that cars are so cheap at the moment to the extent that I would consider prices to be less then "normal".

ehhhhhhhh, No Robert, thats what you said - see your quote above. Prices on second hand metal are plummeting and will continue to do so for the forseeable.
Back on Topic, OP - if you wanty value - buy privately or head to an auction for the very best pricing in the country avoiding margin eating middlemen etc etc blah blah blah.
