ok ....been dating this guy the last few months...I'm trying to be optimistic but a few things have come to a head ....

He's really nice, I'm really into him, I'm not sure he feels the same way about me. He always wants to spend time with just me, I've never met any of his friends..at one stage I asked him about friends from college and brushed me off by saying that he never really went to college that much as an undergrad and has lost contact with most of the people from the year...tbh I don't believe him....I get the impression that I am just one part of his life, and will never be anything more than that... he does talk about his family, and about getting married one day..I just don't think it'll be me somehow...

You've only been seeing each other a few months yes? In some situations it just doesn't happen that you meet their friends for a while, for whatever reason.
He's mentioned his family, he's mentioned that he's not got a lot of friends, he might even be embarrassed by that.

You say he talks about getting married but that you don't think it'll be you.... tbh, after seeing someone for a few months I think I'd be a little freaked out if he was talking about me. He's just saying he would like to get married in the future some time, not even he would know who that would be to.

Is there a big age gap or anything? He mightn't relish the prospect of meeting a gaggle of giggling girls at once. If you're out in town some evening, why don't you say "so-and-so is in this pub, will we go and join them for a drink?" rather than organising a Meet the Fockers type evening which mightn't be a particularly appealing prospect.

    hey op again....

he does have friends, someone sent me a bebo link of different events he's been at, with his friends...I was never invited to any of them...

we're more or less the same age...he has met my friends a few times out...

I don't know, I think its time to call this a day...

you sound quite down-and-out about it, maybe you should have a chat with him about how you are feeling? no point in being with someone and not knowing where you stand :o

Sounds odd, but some people don't like mixing different areas of their lives at all, or it could be that he doesn't want to have to look after you while out with them (not saying that this would actually happen).

However if it's an issue for you and you don't like it then it is time to call him on it or bail.

sounds believable, I (male 23) have few friends, not so bad that I'd be called a "loner" but you get the idea, not something I'm proud of but it just never happened for me, its probably hard for a woman to imagine because generally they are more sociable

IMHO he's made the effort to be with you, and assuming he is ok otherwise it shouldn't be a deal closer?

Seems odd that you have met no one, not one family member, friend or colleague?

Sometimes when someone does not get to meet the friends and family it could mean that he already has a GF/Partner.....

Is it possible you are unwittingly the 'other woman'.

Could you organise a party/get together invite your crowd and put him on the spot to do likewise?
