    Moderators,

Please feel free to move this if this belongs in some other forum.

The petition below asks the European Commission (EC) to strengthen some recent proposals from the EC on finding non-cruel means for laboratory testing.

    In particular, it focuses on:
    - improved protection for animals in laboratories
    - transparency, accountability and enforcement
    - the replacement of animal experiments with non-animal techniques

Sign the petition and you don't just see your name on a list. The signatories are represented as figures marching down a street. There are just under 150 Irish signatories at the moment.

Just signed it. I think it's an excellent idea, and I also think that the idea of phasing out animal testing instead of stopping it completely immediately will make the legislation more likely to be passed, and while animals will still be dying for a short while after it is (hopefully!) passed, in the long run many more lives will be saved.

    Thanks for the link Gadjodilo!
