Not sure if this is correct spot, Mods feel free to moooove!

I've had waxing (Legs, bikini, underarms) done a few times but EVERYTIME, my whole bikini area will look like a plucked chicken for days/weeks afterwards... looks ridiclous, nothing like the clear soft skin you see on most ladies (I know a lot could be airbrushing, if in pictures, but not all)

Anyone else suffer, I look ridiculous on the beach, have to wear a sarong all the time
I do exfoliate but no dice, Am I destined to look like a plucked chicken for my hols forever :(

    Any advice?

maybe you have strong hair growth maybe try using a hair minimising cream on the area?

I use a growth inhibator before and after waxing, same thing?

If not, where would I find this minimising cream you speak of?

    Thanks

I don't know if this will help but sometimes after I epilate, I get red lumps and bumps everywhere. I usually use a good moisturiser or something like bio oil seems to do the trick at bringin down the redness :)

Thanks bluestar, started using the epilator myself (Recession and all) and meant to mention it in my OP.

Hmmmm bio oil, I'll try it!

I hate ro sound like a prima donna, but its so off putting and unattractive

Same as you. In fact there's no point in me getting waxed really because by the time it's looking normal the hair has started growing back. I find epilating works well though. I use a little tea tree oil in water and apply to the area after epilation, usually smooth within an hour or so.

Hm..this epilator thingy is where it kills the hair. Is that correct?

How long does it last anyone know?

    Nah, it plucks.

Lasts as long as a wax.

    Thanks Das Kitty!!

I find its the same with the epilator even with tea tree..... My hair is just so stubbborn I guess,
gonna try Lycon waxing next, heard its the bees knees!

I just wanna be smooth.... :(

I have the exact same problem and its funny i remember using the exact phrase as you "plucked chicken" coz that exactly what it looked like to me. Does an epilator hurt?

I'm not going to lie, epilating hurts to begin with. But you soon get used to it. I would never go back to shaving. Also, hairs do grow back softer and finer so it'd definitely worth it.

However, I don't think epilating my bikini line will ever be pain free.
