    Hey Cycling Folk,

I am in the market for buying a bike, its been a long time since I had one, but I want one for my fitness programme. I have a small budget , would 200 euro possibly get me a decent enough mountain bike?

    Cheers

    Will

Nope. Certainly not a new, and unlikely to get you a good second hand one either.

    Try trebling your budget.

Running is cheap, apart from the physio.

As much as I hate to say it, Halfords will be your best bet the carrera vulcan V-spec for e299.99 is probably the cheapest MTB ive seen with a decent parts package on a decent frame.
Just avoid anything thats around the e200 mark, or any MTB with half price on it. They aint really half price.

Why a mountain bike? Are you going off road, or do you just want a bike to do some cycling on?

In terms of improving fitness a road bike might be a better bet initially.

Pretty good price for that bike, assuming it's an 09 model?

Spec is pretty basic but still you get disc brakes and an 80mm fork.

Should do exactly what you need it to do anyway.
