I remember changing back in 05 to firefox 1.5 as it was the new fastest browser, now i have safari installed and tbh the Webkit rendering engine is much faster than Gecko which Firefox uses, obviously it isnt noticeable on every website but on boards.ie for example its a good bit faster.

Will it become the new Firefox? (I.e. 2nd place behind Internet Explorer(For windows pcs....)

Doubtful. A lot of people would be lost without their addons. The likes of chrome, opera and safari really need to up their game in this regards if they want to take that core group of users. The only other way they'd move is if firefox got really shítey compared to the others.

    Does safari have anything like
    adblock
    no-script
Remove it permanently - essential for netbooks

Yes I fully agree with you guys. The real power of Firefox are add-ons.

    Performance is not.
    Unfortunately.
