I'm planning on heading down to kinsale in the summer to try for a blue shark or two.
Does anybody know a good angling centre in the area and have an idea about rates, equipment hire etc.

There are boats beside the Trident Hotel which go after shark and reef/wreck fishing, also there is another across the bay. Courtmacsherry also has a fishing centre which is about 20 minutes drive from kinsale.

Haven't been in a few years but I think it would cost around 50-60 per day.

I dont know what kind of operation Kinsale Angling centre are running but i've sent them two emails and left four voicemails on that contact number and heard nothing.
I've already booked the accomadation and i'm getting concerned that we wont get any fishing done.
Does anybody know anybody down there who has a boat?

Can be difficult to get a booking down that way, i wouldn't book the hotel before the fishing, I normally book the fishing in march to fish in July. If you are on your own you stand a chance of getting on a boat to make up numbers. The boat will normally cost between €400-€500 a day, for shark fishing you don't want anymore than 4 anglers, so it usually works out €100 a head. Best to wait till august for the blues.

    Tight lines.
