hi, just wondering what the surname Gillan would be in Irish? My teacher told me it wasn't Irish, probably Scottish. But looking on the internet, it looks like its from Donegali

I've heard the name ''Ó Giolláin' before. The book 'An tAinmneoir agus an Sloinnteoir' is a great source for first and last names.
