    Hi all,
I have heard of a guy selling Sky viewing cards for 400euro that get you the whole Sky package for free, so one would cancel Sky and use one of thease. No dout they are dogey and illegal, but why has Sky not overcome the problem???

Or have they, is this what the new viewing cards they are sending out are all about?

For €400 I'd say the scum will have little takers. Last time Sky replaced the cards it was because the old encryption method got hacked so presumably the same has happened again now. I am on several different sites relating to satellites and the consensus is Sky is generally totally impenetrable and whoever does hack sky is not going to release it to the public on the internet as

    a) he might end up dead
    b) jail time likely
    c) Sky will fix it as they are doing now and the hacker will lose his free sky

Most likely Sky is hacked atm but they are issuing new card and the only ones who know it is organised criminals and are thus charging €400 a card which will be inactive most likely by July. It could also be stolen Sky cards or old Sky cards from people who got their new ones already as both old and new will work simultaneously for a brief honeymoon period. Don't trust these conmen and if offered it report both to Sky and the Gardai. Finally IBTL :pac:

The new cards are designed to stop cardsharingm with fast rom speeds and constant keychanges that will be near impossible to share over a network.

    In before Lock..

Its a solid bet that Sky has been hacked.. I've seen a few places with Sky Sports using a Dreambox (I wont say where) and they weren't using a card.. and it wasnt CableTV (or in this country) either.

Old cards, even if valid, wont decode Sky Movies or Sky Sports using a standard SkyBox because the cards are imprinted with the serial number of the box they are first activated in.

Sky's system is virtually unbeatable, because they control everything.. the encryption system, the software on the decoders and the software on the cards.
