Munster Open Satellites in the Eglinton on Tuesday 12th and Friday 15th

    We are running 2 satellites for the Munster Open in the Eglinton Casino on Tuesday 12th and Friday 15th of May. They are €75 + €10 freezeouts.

    We have good rates with Forster Court Hotel so send an email to the casino at info@theeglinton.com or phone (091) 569222 if you want to book there.


    1. Who is running the event: The Eglinton Casino
    2. The purpose of the event: Commercial
    3. Date and Location of event: Eglinton Casino Galway, Tuesday 12th May 2009 and Friday 15th May 2009
    4. Registration and Start time of event: Reg from 8:30pm, starts 9pm sharp
    5. Any prerequisites: must be a member. Bring valid passport/license on the day
    6. How can tickets be purchased & is there a maximum number: can be bought at the front desk. Max 110
    7. Type of Tournament: NLHE freezeout
    8. Cost of entry and any subsequent rebuys/top-ups etc: €75
    9. Cost of registration: €10
    10. % of entry fee/rebuys/top-up going into Prize fund: 100%
    10a. Is any money from the prize fund held back for future tournaments, if so, how much: no
    11. Any guaranteed prize pool: 4 X €350 Packages to the Munster Open in each satellite
    12. If applicable, Number of re-buys allowed and over what time frame/blind levels: n/a
    13. Starting Chips: 10000
    14. Rebuy and Top-up chip amounts: n/a
    15. Blind levels: all levels
    16. Blind timeframes: 20mins
    17. Places being paid and if any prizes are other than cash: A package will be given out for every €350 in prizepool. Balance will be paid as cash
    18. Are there going to be dealers - and their level of skill: Yes
    19. Will there be a documented list of rules: Yes
    20. Is there a tournament director: Yes
    21. How are disputes handled - who has final say: TD handles all disputes and has final say
    22. Are there any cash games offered, if so, please outline the rake for each limit offered: Yes, various games. Rake 3.3% capped at €20 per pot in all games

    Where is the accomodation for in that package lads?
    Il be definitely in to play ( hopefully only once ) this anyway

    Four qualifiers in tonight's satellite.
    Dave (the *ahem* legend) Curtis, Pat (put me down first) O'Callaghan, Christy Smith and krissin Smith are all heading to Killarney next weekend.

    Still another chance to qualify on Friday night.

    my satellite lasted about 5 hands , my aces busted by kings :rolleyes: might be in friday , not sure yet , still really wanna head to killarney but dunno if its worth my while to pay another €80 for a sat if im gonna pay in regardless ...

    I remember discussing this very subject with Roundtower once upon a time and like you, I used to be paranoid about paying too much in satts trying to win a seat in a main event. He explained that if you feel you have an edge in these satts, then it doesnt really matter and you should go and play another one. If you have an edge in the satts, the likelihood is that you'll win your ticket. Since he explained his thinking on this to me (maybe i'm not explaining it very well here), I changed my opinion on it and very happy to have done so.
