    Hi,

I just wondering does anyone out there work in Telecoms, either as an Engineer, or Consultant/Solutions Architect etc., specifically, within Mobile Networks - Core Networks

Now I know there are no jobs out there at the moment, but I would like to know from anyone in the field what experience they would recommend for someone who wants to have the right skills for when a position opens up..

I'm currently working abroad as a Mobile Core Engineer, dealing mainly with MSC, MSC-S, MGw.. I'm currently on a project integrating these nodes into a customers network, but am looking at going back to Ireland to get into network design, solutions, consultancy etc. One of my issues is that many roles seem to expect good IP skills (Cisco etc.) which I don't have (I have basic IP/ATM skills and Ericsson node skills)..

If anyone works in this type of role in Ireland it would be good if I could pm you to find out more

    thanks
