Well people, just wondering who out of our fine political elite for this year's local elections has the "Maurice Hickey Effect"™? Someone must be running to take over the mantle from those who "Rocked the Vote" last time around.

I don't know, I never look at the candidates I just pick the ones least likely to win so the top parties have a vote against them.

In Clonsilla/Ongar with its large Nigerian population,the main parties seem to have token black guy candidate,Fianna Fail have one,Fine Gael have one,and I think Labour have one floating around,lol

No doubt if one of them gets in, they will return home to Lagos in triumph, to show their countrymen that they have succeeded in their adopted home, despite fleeing that same unhappy place just a couple of years earlier, claiming fear of their lives.
