    Hi,
Want to plan a wine tasting holiday around Rioja region. Just seen an ad for Euskadi-Basque country and this is part of the region. BILBAO is the capitol of Basque country(think its independent)
Is staying in Bilbao more expensive than the rest of Spain? What villages near Rioja are good value for money?

Any help appreciated and any recomendations on wine holidays.

    tx

bilbao is no more expensive than the rest of spain. basque country is definitely not independant and is a huge source of terrorism (ETA) both in France and Spain, although terrorist acts have become very rare in France, as French basque are not as militant as their spanish counterparts. Most of the big names of the ETA have just recently been arrested (last 4 months). Don't know the rioja region very well, but that's a beautiful part of spain (basque country i mean), and well worth a visit.
