Broadband in South Korea has had the following impacts:
    * Media: Increased IPTV penetration, but also significant increases in time shifting and video on demand as the consumer gets more control over their content choice. Koreans can buy copies of most TV shows for less than US$1. Interestingly 100Mps broadband has caused a significant shift in leisure time from TV to online gaming. These 3-D online games, like Second Life, have become one of the killer aps in the South Korean 100Mps environment.
    (emphasis mine)

Is this a joke? Trying to convince me that Second Life is a killer app in South Korea?

    Doom is a killer ap.
Free online webmail is a killer ap.
Google's search engine is a killer ap.

    But SECOND LIFE? kekekekekekekekekekekeke!

Who cares about what aps are killer, I'll take 100mps please. 1 Gps in the pipeline would be nice too. The benefits are obvious but the article outlines them nicely.
