Windscreen Wipers dont come all the way down...

I've had no problem with my windscreen wipers... until tonight. I was driving in the bad weather (high wind and rain) and I had the wipers on full speed (it was really heavy rain).

Anyway, when the rain calmed, I put the wipers on a slower speed and they stop half way down the windscreen. When I put them on again, they go the whole way down and up but always stop half way down.

Are they damaged? Do I need them replaced or a screw tightened/loosened?

You need a new wiper motor. The same thing happened to me last year in heavy snow. I braked and a huge wedge of snow fell from the roof onto the windscreen. I foolishly put my wipers on and it damaged the motor.

The part itself is relatively cheap but can be a bitch to fit. Best leaving it in the hands of a garage.
