my passport was up in the 31st of march
im going to manchester on sunday
Passports are required for travel to all countries except the United Kingdom. (However, you should note that some airlines now require photo-ID for flights to the UK). With the exception of travel to the U.K., Irish citizens require a valid passport for travel to all other destinations in the E.U.

are Ryanair one of those that require photo-ID

Ryanair will accept photo ID, your driving licence will do fine for travel to the UK.

    From the Ryanair website.

For British and Irish citizens who are travelling on flights to/from the United Kingdom to/from the Republic of Ireland (Common Travel Area), a valid driving licence with photo is acceptable photo ID.

I've lost my passport in London and flown home to Ireland with an Irish Driving Licence (and provisional at that!)

Incidentally, a call to the Metropolitan Police a few days later revealed my passport had been found on a street near Elephant & Castle; was kindly handed in and posted to me free of charge at her Majesty's pleasure!

Just be aware that you will not be able to do online check-in.

Also - From 1st October 09 driving licences will not be accepted.

Can you elaborate - is that if you don't have a passport as ID, or will online check-in be gone after 1st Oct?

    Currently:

    Online checkin - passport only
airport checkin - full driving license or passport

    1st October 2009:

    Online checkin - passport only
Airport checkin - will not exist anymore
