Hey, not sure if this is the right place for this but here goes.

I've recently finished a level 7 degree course in carlow it. ive sent my C.V. around a load of places and e-mailed a few companies but of course no one seems to be hiring at the moment and I dont want to sponge of my parents until I get a job (god knows when that will come) so Im wondering if im eligible for the dole and if I am what do I need to bring with me?

I'm 21, have been in college for the past 3 years and worked in a centra supermarket for 2 years between 16-18 while I was in secondary school.

    Cheers.

You need a letter from college stating you're finished college. If you have enough prsi contributions from work you are entitled to jobseekers benefit which is not means-tested,if you don't, you apply for job-seekers allowance which is means-tested .Eg if you live with your parents and you are under 24 your parents income is taken into account. If you live with a partner and they are working his\hers income is taken into account. If you live on your own you would probably get the full amount and perhaps rent allowance.
