Hey just wondering if people could share their experiences of 3D films?

My GF and I are due to go to see Coraline 3-D tomorrow just wondering what people's thoughts are on the technology?

What about the glasses themselves? Comfortable? I have prescription glasses, I presume they'll fit (snugly) over them

I don't know about fitting over your current glasses... they should but I found them pretty snug and I wear contacts.

Be sure to clean them. I think they just rebag used ones because the ones I got the first time had smudges all over them, and had to try and clean them off in the dark. I just kept that pair and bring them with me if I'm going to see a 3D movie now.

Overall they are good, I found it took my eyes a minute or so to adjust to the darker image, after that it was fine. That being said, the new 3D films, I've noticed very little in noticable difference to the old red/green 3D movies.

Cheers for that. Bit concerned about the glasses over glasses issue, I'm sure a lot of people will be in the same boat. Cant imagine it being too comfortable.

I can see why studios and cinemas are pushing it so much, cost me a total of €27 (booked online) for 2 tickets!

I went to see My Bloody Valetine 3D and had a ball at it. I was gob smacked at the effects.

Also went to see Monsters Vs Aliens but wasnt has impressed with it that time. But still had a ball.

Think it might depend on the cinema, we went to Cin world on Parnell St.

I seen Nightmare Before Christmas and it was ok, not really worth the price IMO, although the trailer for Bolt had much more advanced 3D. I think Avatar will make or break the "3D Experience" for me, hopefully that will be worth the hype

I saw The Nightmare before Christmas last year in Dundrum and had no problems with the glasses over glasses, I don't recall them bothering me at all. The glasses that we got were clean and in sealed bags, we kept them too,Just need another few movies in 3D now so we can use them again.

Saw Coraline, no issue with the glasses over glasses.

I thought the 3D aspect was handled well, it wasn't too 'gimicky'

Didn't exactly blow me away, I'd have no problem reverting to 2D if I were to see it again.

Excellent film by the way, leaving aside the 3D aspect!
