"RYANAIR IS offering Munster rugby supporters a €100 “losers’ bonus” if they cancel the flights they booked to the Heineken Cup final in Edinburgh to free up space for Leinster fans.......Optimistic Munster fans had booked their flights to Edinburgh long ago.

Said a Ryanair spokesman: “Most of our flights to Edinburgh and Glasgow for the Heineken Cup final were heavily pre-sold to Munster fans long before the end of the pool matches at fares of €80 to €100 return.

“Since many of these couldn’t bear to watch the Leinster ‘Ladyboys’ in Edinburgh we offer them the chance to cancel their flights and get a refund of up to €100 return,” the Ryanair spokesman said."

Obviously Ryanair will then sell them for about €300 making a massive profit. More than they would make on all the name changes.

Yup - hardly an act of benevolence methinks! Just letting others know who might be dithering over what to do.....

Michael O Leary is a rugby fanso it could be benovolence.....

It only applies to flights departing and returning to Dublin Airport only. Michael O Leary has assumed that no Leinster supporters will be able to find Cork or Shannon Airport, where the majority of Munster fans will have booked their flights from.

    Not a great offer IMHO.

    Pathetic.

It's just another excuse to free up seats and then charge 4 times the cost of getting them back.

Another scam from the pikey's of air travel.

They've increased the name-change fee on the flights as well, or at least that's what I've heard.

If they can't get you with one thing they'll hit you with something else. Really are a horrible shower.

Really says it all about the class of this operation when they have to use "ladyboy" in their press release. They are really the lowest of the low.

Aer Lingus or the ferry from Larne to Stranraer

Would like to see the press officer call Rocky Elsom and CJ Van Der Linde a "ladyboy" to their faces....:D

if you dont like the way they do business, thre's a very simple solution....dont fly with them.

easy, no one is making you take that 1cent flight.

(and no i dont work for ryanair, just sick of listening to people whinge about them)

Have I mentioned price or service in my post. Not whinging as you put it, just pointing out how low they will go to promote themselves.

Saw it posted on some other forums. I don't have a flight to change so I can't confirm its veracity. Wouldn't surprise me though.
