Why isn't the thread entitled "League of Ireland this weekend"?

There is a massive amount of games on in Ireland this weekend so a thread entitled "Irish football this weekend" with an opening post containing 5 games is plain stupid.

Unless you want everyone posting here about schoolboy and junior ball.

Longford fans any expectations on tomorrow night's game?

Sheesh! As it is I see someone has posted games involving outfits like Mervue United and UCD Lissywollen, whoever they are!

We're more into the big time here: big games clashes to savour between big, bandwagony clubs like Bohs, Pats and Rovers, a bit like Chelsea v Barca. :p

yup, big show on in inchicore on saturday. they've sent out extra free tickets to season ticket holders to bring along mates to bulk up the crowd for the telly. my mates still wont go!

i'm verging on optimism this week, dunno why but i think we may scrape a win

Yeah, i got mine in the post!!!! They're closing off the Camac for this one so that people will go into the new stand on the Inchicore end to make it look good for the cameras!

On a sidenote, i saw Damien Lynch coming out of the Metro Cafe up near the Stephen's Green Shopping Ctr today. I was starstruck!!!! :)

I'd fancy Cork for the win tbh.

Will be watching to see the fans turn on Kenna once again when they lose.

    St Pats 0 - 3 Cork City:)

Not many times a Cork team has gone to Pats and beaten them by 3 goals.

First time Ive ever seen it.

More to do with how poor Pats were than scintilating football from us. Don't think Pats forced a save from Connor in the entire game. Disappointed we never pushed on in the 2nd half. The keeper clearly was struggling when the ball came into the box and yet all we did was pass it around slowly not taking advantage of the extra man.

Massive game at the Cross next week against Derry. Still have my doubts over this team. Dennehy aside there is no pace anywhere and relying on Behan for goals is frustrating after some of the quality strikers we have had in the last few years.

Hope you enjoyed it man, you got a highly dramatic game, even if lacking in a whole lot of quality haha. What did you make of it yourself?

Likewise can't remember the last time Rovers won 0-3 at Sligo going back certainly 17 years. Normally it's a game where Sligo turn up regardless of previous form.

    Won't object though.:pac:
