    Hi,
As the title says I am a complete fitness NOVICE, but I've decided it's time I do something about it. I have done the mini marathon for the past 4 years, not doing it this year as too much on at the time. I did it every time with no training at all. My times ranged from 50 mins to 1hr 20 mins.

Sorry to waffle I just want to illustrate how new this fitness thing is to me. I'm joining a gym straight after I finish my college exams, it's not me putting it off, I honestly am tht busy.

ok so about me {can you tell I'm a talker who never mastered the hang of concise writing?:P}.
I'm a 21yr female looking to get very fit {long term goal} but over the summer any improvement in fitness/toning up/reduce body fat is my short term goal. I have very weak joints due to a medical condition, I know I should do some weights but have no clue how to or how to start, esp with this in mind.
And as you've guessed, being female, weight loss is of course a priority! I'm 5'7 and just below 9st. This is a very recent drop from 10 1/2st so a lot of toning required!!
So I was wondering could anyone give me some tips on how to begin or anything I should do beforehand diet etc? any and all tips or suggestions very welcome!!:D
    Thank you in advance!

Yello! Your post made me chuckle :P

My advice is read the stickys for your diet... and then pop over to the website www.figureathlete.com read all the articles, pick one program ya like. With a good fitness program and good nutrition you'll have the fitness you want down to a T by the end of the summer.

    /post may suck, very tired!
