The lack of Eoin Mulligan vs Dublin in 2005 upsets me greatly.

More for what it meant than how good it was. Still some finish.

Mulligans off course.

Joyce McMullans first goal against Cavan in 89 in Breffni.

Mad Men's Don Draper : What you call love was invented by guys like me, to sell nylons.

I think Joe Kavanagh's goal for Cork against Meath in '99 AI Final just pips Eoin Mulligans goal.

Hey check think link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iQr_IEASF3E&feature=channel_page . The football player name is Zoran Pavlovič, he comes from Slovenia, Europe. He is curently playing for the footbal club NK MARIBOR. He scored an important goal agins NK Nafta for 1:1, the game was 3:1 after the 90 min. It was the first game of the new stadium. I would say it was one of the best goals i have every seen in my life (i was watching the game in the stadium).

Eh... WTF?

Wrong forum methinks :P

Reminds me of Mulligan's goal vs the Dubs tho.

Anyway, Maurice Fitz's goal in the 2000 Semi vs Armagh was a cracker.
Solo Right foot, then Left foot, the Right foot into the botom corner.
Not sure if that was the winning goal in the replay, or the one to force a draw first time round.

All the goals mentioned are mostly individual efforts, foleys 91 is best goal by a long shot, greatest team goal ever, move starts with O Connells two feet over his own endline and finishes with foley a yard out.

Still sends shivers down the spine

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LOaSn...eature=related not blowing my own trumpet or anything but I scored two goals like this 10 minutes apart in a schools match some 20 odd years ago. No video cameras in those days unfortunately. I have to say Mulligans goal is the best

• Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,528 ✭✭✭dcr22B

Mulligan's goal should never have happened. Any seasoned defender would've cleaned him out of it but our defenders that day lacked cuteness.

Bets goal I have ever seen was Bernard Brogan senior vs Kerry in the 1977 AI semi final.

For sheer audacity though this one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xxs_ta-Pjcc&NR=1 not the best by a long shot but to have the balls to do it!

Peter Reilly for Cavan in the mid nineties. Going to try and find the goal on Youtube. Can't even remember who it was against.

He ran half the pitch at Breffni!

• Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 64 ✭✭LinoRichie

Have a look at this one - I remember being at this match - mid to late 80s I'd say - Dublin V Cork in a league quarter final or semi-final - match ends in a draw - the langers refuse to play extra-time - Barney Rock scores a goal, it's as if the Cork defenders weren't even there!

That was a good one alright, maybe I am biased 'case it's a Cork goal. Mullligan's was something else I must say, have to give credit where it's due. Even though Joe was close in when he hit it, the build-up was fantastic. For Mulligan's goal the Dub backs bought those dummies far too easy I thought.

Think it has to be Mulligan's goal against Dublin - the long rang efforts such as Hayes look spectacular but still reckon Mulligans top that. For pure technique Derek Duggan's goal against Meath in the All Ireland semi final in 1991 must get a mention.

A truly fantastic, magnificent goal
Bear with me as I can't access Youtube in work but from what I remember
A great foot pass
Power & pace from O Hara in his 30 yard run
Right foot solo, left foot solo, left foot shot from around the 21 and in off the cross bar
Unforgettable

It was 1995 against Antrim. He actually scored 2 in that game, for the first he ran down the wing and along the end line and rocketed it into the corner, the second from centre half forward, just powering his way through the middle, two massive goals!

On the subject of Cavan goals, Fintin Cahill's finish against Kerry in the All Ireland semi of '97 was mighty.

Dont think anyone can argue with Mulligans goal, you have to factor in the importance, cheekyness and the form(skill goes without saying) that the player was is. Took real courage to do it. Changed his whole season.

Not so sure about that choice but I suppose beauty (or skill) is in the eye of the beholder.
