Hey, I've been playing guitar for a while but I was listening to this guy recently.

How does he play chords like that? I've tried moving some free fingers around to get that sound but it's just not as good as that. Any ideas?

It sounds like he's muting the strings with his palm.

barre a c sharp minor at fourth fret and strum the chord hitting the c sharp first bass note first (fourth fret on the a A string) it's an up and down action for the strum (half palm mute at bridge) and the bass notes alternate between c shrap & b natural (played on the e string at the seventh fret while still barring the c sharp minor) and then there's a hammer on from c shrap to d sharp on the A string - after the third repetition of this mofit it goes to e major (barred at fourth fret) and then g sharp major 7.
    it's pretty basic.
