    Guys,
What's the best way to get to Gothenburg from Ireland (shannon or Dublin). All the flights seem to be via Riga\Paris\Amsterdamn. Has any of you travelled there recently, and if so, how did you get there?

    Thanks.. :)

    Doesn't Ryanair fly there?

They do, but not from Ireland anymore. Unless I've gone extremely blind. Apparently there used to be flights alright. Ryanair fly there from Stanstead but the times don't suit. I realise my options are limited without Ryanair. AirBaltic fly to Riga, and then onto Gothenburg.

Fly to Copenhagen/Oslo then get a train up/down to Gothenburg?

I checked that out before also. You're talking about 5 hours from either on a train minimum. I'd only be there for a day. It's amazing how Ryanair don't fly direct considering they do so from other places.. :)

BMI fly via Heathrow I think if that helps.

You can also fly with SAS via Copenhagen or Stockholm, at least they will (might!) send your bags straight through.

Flew to Oslo myself two years ago and got the train down to Goteburg. There's a brilliant theme park there if you look it up. quick tram ride.

You could fly direct to Copenhagen and get a train (about 3h 20m) right from Kastrup. No changes, it goes straight there. Prob just as quick as a change of flight. There's a train nearly every half hour.

Wow, didn't realise Ryanair got rid of Dublin-Gothenburg

Was there last year and was thinking of heading back again soon. For the record when i went I got the last flight from Dublin to Stanstead and stayed overnight there before getting a 7am flight from Stanstead to Gothenburg. (Getting the Gothenburg-Dublin flight home)

Have had to go from Stansted myself and has only cost 100 quid for flights so not bad.
I think they cancelled the Dublin-Gothenburg as cost cutting measure as most of the Swedes here(that i know anyway) were getting one way flights from Dublin and not coming back here so want worth there while.

SAS fly direct on Saturdays until 3 October.

Otherwise, fly to Copenhagen with either SAS, Aer Lingus, Norwegian or Ryanair and then direct train from Copenhagen airport to Gothenburg.
