Lads, got a note last night about this comp in the Green Isle Hotel, Newlands Cross.

On the day there are seperate mens, ladies and youth competitions. Entry fees are:
    Men - 25
    Ladies - 15
    Youth - 10

Entries will be accepted at the venue on the day before 12pm!

It is open to all players, you dont need to play for a team or in Dublin.

If anyone wants more details please pm me, I dont want to be putting phone numbers on the web.

I simply can't afford it:(. I'd love to go for the experience as I've never played in a proper tournament like this before.

Paddy meaney was on a 9 darter 4 times in the youths matches im told

    I lost 4-1 in the quarters of my board, disgusted coz i played super and i missed D16 for a 152 checkout, D15 for a 147 checkout, D20 for a shanghai and D18 for a 116

    Fantastic game though

I was on Board 8, where was everyone else

Hah no way, hold on, are you a short guy with shaved head or a tall bloke?

i think i might have been watching your match

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 738 ✭✭✭AndyP

Im the tall one. only dropped 3 legs in winning the board.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,182 ✭✭✭dionsiseire

Tall guy with a light blue tshirt?

yep i think i remember watching you beat the small guy with the shaved head

i was 2 games before you, i was desperately unlucky not to have an entirely different scoreline. Thats darts though. Mick obviously then beat TJ Dixon (Micks Cousin) on his board, Young Dylan had TJ beaten all ends up and just couldnt get the final double and TJ snook it, thats the name of the game though

Yeah that was me. Missed double 18 for a 10 darter in the board final.

Who was the board final against? a guy called james? or was it a guy with a moustache

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 738 ✭✭✭AndyP

John Edwards. He was wearing a Dublin jersey with his name on the back.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,182 ✭✭✭dionsiseire

Yeah the guy i marked for after my match, he obviously beat the guy that i lost to

He threw some very good darts in the game i marked for him.

So we've been at the same tournaments 2 weeks running, we've been on the same board and still managed to avoid each other haha

i guess it just comes down to walking up to a person and saying "sorry, are you a member of boards.ie" just sounds wierd

Just to answer this question. He beat me 5-2, I ws disappointed that I didnt play anywhere near the darts I played up to that but I still had chances to make it a lot closer.

No problems at all with Mick. I know some of the stuff that has been said on here but I have never witnessed any bad behaviour at all.
