Glucosamine and fish oils may help. But you should also be working on the diet to help lose the weight and take the strain off the joints, the exercise will help too. If you post your normal eating routine here people will be able to give you advice

Can you replace the soccer/running with cycling/swimming until you loose a bit of weight?

Annoying I know, but at least you will save your knees for later.

yep you need to avoid the high impact stuff like running etc mate..

swimming is great but seated bike, crosstrainer also good! They easy on the joints which you need to avoid lasting effects.

no harm taking an omega 3 supplement if you lacking it in your diet.

address your diet too, exercise only half the battle!

Played rugby for years and still kickboxing so I had lots of niggly joints, had ops on knees etc.

used Glucosamine and fish oils for years but what made a real difference was starting to use mega cissus about 6 months ago from myprotein.co.uk.

Be sure to cycle it, just in case its masking any injuries.

    some good info on pubmed.com

    cheers

I find Animal Flex is good for sore joints, seems to start working fairly quickly - noticed a difference after two weeks. I have had damage to knees, ankles and a hip socket so I am fairly sure that there is a positive effect!

Sorry, I think your diet is rubbish. It's possible you can lose weight like that if you drop your calories enough, but it's not the best way to feed your body.

What strikes me about your diet is that it is very low in quality protein and green vegetables. Base your diet on those, and you'll find the weight comes off painlessly.

Start the day with eggs or oatmeal, or better, both. A good breakfast is essential. Something like a mushroom or spinach omlette gives you protein and veg. Protein bars are rubbish, keep one in your bag for an emergency, but don't plan on eating them.

If you have a lot of weight to lose, drop the CdF bread. Even the brown stuff is mostly refined carbs with no real nutrition. If you are addicted, then maybe a small amount just before a workout, but I've give them a miss.

Fat free yogurt usually has lots of sugar and/or sweetener and weird additives. You are better with a natural unsweetened yogurt with the normal amount of fat. Or better still, some cottage cheese.

Fish is a great way to bump up the protein in a meal. Tuna or salmon and a bag of washed salad or spinach makes a handy and easy lunch.

Fat has its place, a good olive oil dressing and oily fish are excellent additions to your diet. Red meat is great stuff too, just don't deep fry it or eat it with chips.
